How Can Internet2 Benefit You?
Internet2 is a non-profit, member-driven advanced technology community for research and education that delivers a diverse portfolio of technology solutions, including the nation’s largest and fastest research and education network. This network differs from the common Internet that most people use in many ways.
Internet2 provides a secure high-speed network, cloud solutions, research support, and services tailored for research and education. This community includes higher education, research institutions, government entities, corporations and cultural organizations.
Internet2's Higher Education membership is available to any not-for-profit, post-secondary degree-granting institution that is accredited by a nationally recognized accrediting agency as determined by the U.S. Secretary of Education. Members must establish a connection to the Internet2 Network through a regional Research and Education Network member/connector.

K-12 schools connect to their state or regional R&E network partner that, in turn, connects to Internet2. How each K-12 school connects to Internet2 is different depending on the state or regional R&E network and state in which it operates.

ICN has access to Internet2 by directly connecting to the Great Plains Network (GPN) via Iowa State University. This ISU sponsorship was established because of ICN's connections to the K–12 education community. Sponsorship is not available to every Internet service provider.
