Enhanced network visibility, threat protection, and scalable connectivity statewide
The Iowa Communications Network (ICN) announces a new Software-Defined Wide Area Network (SD-WAN) service for its customers across Iowa. Building on ICN’s long-standing partnership with Fortinet, the new offering brings advanced network management and integrated threat protection to the public sector and community anchor institutions statewide.
SD-WAN technology delivers secure, efficient connectivity across all IP-based networks. By blending Fortinet security with ICN expertise, the unified solution streamlines complex network infrastructure into a resilient system that supports hybrid work and protects against cyber threats and performance slowdowns.
"Leveraging our expanded Fortinet partnership allows us to bring secure SD-WAN to our customers while improving our visibility into traffic patterns and helping us identify customer needs earlier," ICN Deputy Director Scott Pappan said. "This solution eliminates unnecessary complexity while delivering the high-performance connectivity, robust protection and seamless scalability our customers need to stay ahead."
By consolidating network and security infrastructure into a single unified platform, this SD-WAN solution streamlines operations and empowers administrators with central command and digital monitoring to effortlessly scale devices, accelerate troubleshooting, and optimize performance. Advanced features such as automated path intelligence and application prioritization dynamically route traffic and enforce bandwidth policies based on user demand.
Beyond this SD-WAN solution, ICN offers a suite of security services, including managed firewall, DDoS mitigation, security consulting, and other managed security solutions.
