🎨 Calling All K-8 Artists!
The Iowa Communications Network (ICN) is excited to team up with Ankeny-based Tier 3 Technology Solutions for a fun Cybersecurity Poster Contest, bringing cyber safety awareness into the spotlight. The Be Cyber Safe! ICN Poster Contest invites young Iowans across the state to showcase their artistic creativity while promoting essential habits for staying safe online.
Open to all Iowa public, private, and home-schooled students in grades K–8, this free contest encourages students to educate their peers and communities on smart digital habits.
Contest Overview
- Who Can Enter: Iowa K–8 students. (One submission per student).
- Deadline: Friday, October 16, 2026
- Mandatory Requirements: Every poster must prominently feature the exact phrase “Be Cyber Safe!”.
Artwork will be judged within three brackets focusing on tailored safety themes:
- Grades K–2 (Be a Cyber Superhero): Focuses on basic online safety, privacy, and caution.
- Grades 3–5 (Smart Social Media Habits): Focuses on responsible sharing, online etiquette, and smart choices.
- Grades 6–8 (AI: Real vs. Fake Online): Focuses on AI overuse/abuse, deepfakes, and online trust.
To celebrate creativity and student effort, all entries must be 100% original works created solely by the student. Artwork can be completed using traditional physical mediums (markers, paint, colored pencils).
Submissions can be sent digitally via high-resolution file or mailed/delivered flat to the ICN office in Des Moines. To protect student privacy, personal information must never appear on the front of the artwork. ICN and Tier 3 Technology Solutions will select two winners in each bracket the last week of October.
