Are you an Iowa high schooler with a passion for technology? The ICN is looking for motivated students in grades 10–12 to join the next Statewide Youth Broadband advisory Council (SYBAC). This unique program offers a front-row seat to the world of cybersecurity, critical infrastructure, and Iowa’s tech industry.

Program Highlights:

  • Expert Access: Network with state government tech leaders and industry professionals.
  • Professional Certification: Gain access to cybersecurity curriculum with the opportunity to earn a Fortinet certificate.
  • Hands-on Experience: Conduct executive interviews or lead a community cybersecurity project.
  • Capitol Visit: Wrap up the year with an exclusive in-person session at the State Capitol in Des Moines.

Schedule & Requirements: The council meets virtually on the second Tuesday of each month (2:00 PM – 3:00 PM) from September through April. Applicants must submit a short essay and a teacher recommendation by May 28, 2026.
