Annual report highlights network upgrades, partnerships, and outreach

The Fiscal Year 2025 annual report is now available. This report showcases how ICN is strengthening and modernizing our state's critical infrastructure.  This year we are highlighting our four fundamental values and many key achievements.

  • Major Infrastructure Upgrades: We upgraded sections of the network with new equipment, giving 78 key aggregation locations a dedicated 10 Gigabit (10Gb) connection. This boost in speed and added redundancy is a major benefit for crucial sites like community healthcare centers, 911 public safety answering points, government offices, and community colleges.
  • Enhancing Essential Connectivity: We worked with private partners to add reliable cellular connections to elevators, fire alarms, and security systems in key state government buildings—places Iowans visit every day. This simple addition ensures critical systems remain connected and safe.
  • Investing in Iowa's Economy: Our commitment to strong public-private partnerships is clear. In FY 2025, ICN reinvested $22 million into the private sector, with $8.1 million going specifically to private telecommunications providers. This collaboration is key to delivering top-tier service across the state.
  • Customer Spotlights: We also showcased the important work being done by our team for our customers, including the cabling at the Anamosa State Penitentiary and the connectivity for the Iowa Utilities Commission.
